Stadium process update from AFCW

The Chief Exec of AFC Wimbledon has helpfully outlined what’s happening next over the Ploough Lane development, with an approximate timeline, which is published on the club’s website.

In brief, he expects it to be around four months minimum before actual progress can be made, as the Mayor of London has to decide whether to rubberstamp Merton’s approval of the scheme or take a closer look at it. Section 106 agreements also have to be finalised governing the level of financial contributions the developers will make to mitigate the effects of the scheme on areas such as transport, education and health services.

Meanwhile, the club is apparently working on details including a naming rights deal, catering at the new stadium and general fit-out specifications. Here’s a reminder of what the new stadium might look like…
